Spinney Mountain Reservoir has been fishing well all season. Trout fishing has been excellent; fish are being caught on a variety of methods. Fly anglers are doing well during the hatches, trollers are doing well with tiny crank baits, and conventional guys are doing well with plastics and spoons. The key each day is finding out what depth the fish are using, 30 fish days are not uncommon with many over 30inches. The Northern Pike fishing has been fair with a few fish caught each day, there are so many weeds in the lake right now it can be difficult to draw fish out. Spinner baits, top water, and chatter baits have been most effective. The nights are starting to cool down so the fishing should really start improving. Please be carful of afternoon storms and as always, remember to release all Pike 26inhes and bigger. Tight lines!
